One reason the Holy Spirit indwells us is to sanctify us. This is both a one time event and an ongoing process. When we come to Christ through repentance and faith, we are sanctified (set apart as holy) by the Holy Spirit.
Balance is an essential need for all of us.
I especially appreciate my need for balance when I’m training in martial arts. We call it “staying in our frame.” Being in frame refers to having a strong foundation from which we can strike or defend when facing an opponent. It’s much more challenging to do it when you’re mobile.

We seek to build our own kingdoms rather than to seek the Kingdom of Christ. The irony is that this pursuit of control is futile because only God is in control of everything that happens in our lives and in the universe.
Jesus asked the question to determine His disciples’ faith in Him. He wanted to know more about who they thought He was than He was interested in what the crowds thought. The question Jesus asked the disciples is the most important question we will ever answer in our lifetimes.

Peace on Earth, it seems like such an elusive concept. This was especially true during WWI; however, on Christmas Eve in 1914, Scottish soldiers witnessed strange lights in the German trenches across from them. They then began to hear what sounded like singing.
